Regenera Activa® is a no-downtime hair loss treatment that uses regenerative growth factors extracted from your scalp to stimulate the other areas that are losing hair.
Looking to improve hair loss without the side-effects of medication and the risks of hair transplant surgery?
Sozo Aesthetic Clinic is proud to be one of the first clinics in Singapore and South East Asia to introduce this technology.
How Does Regenera Activa® Work?
Regenera Activa®’s patented system extracts “micro-grafts” from your scalp.
When injected into the areas of hair loss, these “micro-grafts” repair and regenerate your scalp.
The result is thicker and stronger hair strands.
Benefits
Regenera Activa is a minimally invasive treatment with little to no downtime, making it ideal for busy individuals who do not want to deal with the side effects of medication or the risks of surgery. It is also effective before and after hair transplants to help improve hair restoration results.
Regenera Activa is effective at treating hair loss in both men and women of all ages, with visible healthy hair regrowth results after just one session. The hair loss treatment is also safe for use on colour-treated or processed hair.
Plus, these micrografts are autologous (extracted from your own body). This means that Regenera Activa® is completely natural and safe, with no risk of rejection from weakened hair follicles.
What Is The Treatment Process Like?
Regenera Activa® is a 3-step procedure that only takes 1 hour.
Harvest of Micro-Grafts
After local anaesthesia (painkiller injection), 3-5 small skin samples (2mm) are extracted from the back of your scalp.
Extraction
The patented Regenera Activa device produces “micro-grafts” that have potent regenerative abilities.
Injection
Dr Boey customises his injection points to deliver optimal results in areas of greatest hair loss.

FAQ
Is Regenera Activa® Painful? Is there any downtime?
Minimal discomfort and recovery time are expected during and after Regenera Activa® Treatment. You can resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment.
Is it safe?
Regenera Activa has been through extensive clinical trials for efficacy and safety.
It is approved by major health regulatory authorities like Europe CE and US FDA for effectiveness and safety in treating androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss).
Can I combine Regenera Activa® with other treatment?
Yes. Regenera Activa can be combined with other treatments such as oral hair growth supplements, anti-hair loss shampoos, hair growth spray and low-level laser therapy, depending on the individual’s condition and preference. Combination treatment may lead to a superior outcome. It is common for patients to reduce their dosage of DHT-blockers after their Regenera Activa treatment.
How many patients have undergone Regenera Activa®?
More than 6000 patients worldwide have been treated with this method since April 2015 (more than two years for protocol development).
Are there any contraindications?
The only medical contraindication is the presence of active skin disease or infection at the injection sites. If you have had a history of herpes simplex infections, you will be given prophylactic antiviral medication prior to the treatment.
Can I have a normal life after the treatment?
Yes. You can carry on with your daily activities immediately after the treatment. , But you have to keep in mind that there are some common-sense considerations, such avoid exposing the injection sites to direct sunlight or heat (e.g. saunas, sunbeds) for two days after the treatment as this may result in skin inflammation.
You should not undertake any strenuous physical activity that would increase your body temperature for two days after the treatment, as this may also result in skin inflammation. Also, avoid swimming for a week as the chlorine in swimming pools may irritate the skin.
Can I get Regenera Activa® Treatment even if I had a hair transplant?
Of course, hair follicles remaining in the recipient area can enjoy the benefits of Regenera Activa® treatment. In fact, it is a great way to maintain the results after a hair transplant. This is because Regenera Activa treats the whole scalp, not just the transplanted area.
This means that it can help thicken the existing hair and promote the growth of new hair in the transplanted and non-transplanted regions.
If I am about to get a hair transplant, can I be treated with Regenera Activa®?
Yes. FUE Hair Transplant can be performed a few days before or after the micrograft procedure. Some physicians prefer to do it at the same time because Regenera Activa reduces the fall of the grafted hair follicles.
When will I see the results?
Results may be seen as early as a month after the first treatment, but it is more common to see visible results after 6-9 months. A course of 3-4 treatments, spaced every 4-6 months, is recommended for best results.
Are there cases that do not achieve the desired results?
A good response is generally seen in 90% of the cases. Non-responders are usually patients with very advanced male pattern hair loss or any hair loss conditions who have very few hair follicles remaining on the scalp.
How long do results last?
Since the treatment harnesses the body’s ability to heal and regenerate new functioning hair follicles, results are expected to last long-term. However, as with any treatment, there is no guarantee that the results will be permanent.
How many times can I do the procedure in my lifetime?
Patients can undergo the hair transplant procedure as many times as necessary to maintain the results. This is because the treatment is generally safe and well-tolerated with no significant side effects.
Should I stop my hair loss medications before or after doing the procedure?
Experts recommend that patients continue with their hair loss medications during and after the Regenera Activa procedure as there is no evidence to suggest that Regenera Activa® treatment can replace these medications.
Are there any risks to Regenera Activa?
One of the beauties of Regenera Activa is that it is a minimally invasive procedure with little to no downtime. The most common side effects are temporary, including redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection sites. These side effects typically resolve within a few days.
In very rare cases, patients may experience an allergic reaction to the injected material. If this happens, the treatment will be immediately stopped, and appropriate medical treatment will be given.
What are the causes of hair loss?
Hair loss can happen due to a variety of factors, including genetics or family history, aging, hormones, certain cancer treatments, chemical hair products, and medications. Common causes of hair loss include male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia), alopecia areata, and telogen effluvium.
