What Is Pico Laser For?

Stubborn Pigmentation

How Pico Laser Removes Pigmentation

Lutronic’s PicoPlus Pico laser is a Picosecond Laser, which is more effective and safer than traditional lasers.

Pico Laser is a non-ablative pigment laser that works in ultra-short 450 picosecond laser pulses instead of nanosecond pulses in a Q-Switched Nd:Yag Laser (100x shorter), which means less photo-thermal effect (less heat).

A pico laser also has higher photo-acoustic effect (more energy), which means that a picosecond laser shatters pigmentation into smaller fragments which are more easily removed by the body’s immune system.

Pico Laser’s Difference

Due to the ultra-short pulse duration and high power of the Pico Laser, it breaks down pigmentation into a much smaller fragments compared to a Q-Switched Laser.

These pigment fragments are cleared faster with fewer number of treatment sessions.

Lutronic’s PicoPlus laser can deliver up to 1.8GW of power, making it one of the most powerful picosecond lasers.

This gives Dr Boey the ability to remove stubborn pigmentation that cannot be removed using other traditional pigment lasers.

Pico Plus Laser Reviews & Results

1. Stellar Performance

Lutronic PicoPlus is a US FDA approved, Korean-tested picosecond laser that generates the one of the highest peak power (1.8GW) in its class of 450 picosecond lasers

This ensures faster results with fewer treatment sessions.

2. Designed for Stubborn Pigmentation Removal in Asian Skin

Unlike the first generation picosecond lasers which were originally designed for tattoo removal in Caucasian skin (lighter skin types), Lutronic’s PicoPlus was designed in Korea with the primary aim of Pigmentation Removal in Asian Skin.

Laser settings and protocols have been optimised for enhanced effectiveness and safety in darker skin types.

3. Legacy of Excellence

PicoPlus is produced by KOSDAQ-listed Lutronic Corporation – one of the leading medical laser producers in Korea, with global footprints in US and Europe.

PicoPlus’ stable laser beam profile comes from Lutronic’s long-standing track record in producing pigment lasers like Spectra XT (nano-second Q-switched Nd:YAG laser) and Pico 4+ (first generation picosecond laser).

PicoPlus is a culmination of more than 20 years of experience in producing reliable pigmentation lasers.

4. Four Picosecond Wavelengths for One Purpose – Flawless Skin

Lutronic PicoPlus has one of the most versatility amongst Pico lasers in treating stubborn pigmentation with Picosecond wavelengths (532nm, 595nm, 660nm and 1064nm).

5. True pico laser – third party reviewed

Lutronic PicoPlus is amongst the few true picosecond lasers (450 picosecond) available in Singapore like Discovery Pico, PicoSure, and PicoWay.

Certain other lasers may be marketed as “Pico technology” but they are not true picosecond lasers. They may not deliver similar results as a genuine pico laser.
