What is Cysteamine (Cyspera®) Melasma cream in Singapore?
Cysteamine (Cyspera®) is a novel pigment corrector for hyperpigmentation concerns like melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and freckles. Naturally present in human body, Cysteamine reduces melanin in the skin epidermis, effectively correcting pigmented marks. Cysteamine is the natural product of metabolization of cysteine, a sulfur-containing amino acid that is naturally present in abundance in the human body. Once in contact with the air, the fast oxidation of cysteamine produces a red cap at the surface of its tube and a slight sulphur-like odor. This is normal and harmless.
Widely used in Singapore, Cysteamine is a cosmeceutical that is produced in Switzerland.
