Nose Fillers Singapore

Nose Fillers Singapore

See immediate increase in volume and height of your nose bridge!

Nose filler treatment is one of the most popular treatments in the cosmetic and medical aesthetics world. It has been generating tremendous buzz around the world because you can achieve a higher nose bridge and sharper nose tip in a matter of 10 minutes – all without the risks of surgery.

Plastic surgery is not the only way to improve your nose shape. It’s possible to have a relatively smaller and more refined nose without having to undergo surgery. This is done through a non-surgical nose filler treatment, which is widely available in Singapore.

Hyaluronic acid, which is a US FDA and HSA approved dermal filler, can correct your imperfections and instantly transform your nose. In the right hands, this treatment can accomplish the same results you can get from a surgical procedure, but minus the surgery, of course.

What is a Nose Filler?

Instead of getting a nose job through invasive surgery, injectable dermal fillers make it possible for you to attain your sought-after look without having to undergo surgery. This is a non-surgical rhinoplasty which makes use of hyaluronic acid to alter the shape and look of a nose. This procedure can improve the size of the nose, smoothen bumps, add some lift, and fill in depressed areas on the nose.

Sounds too good to be true? Do note that there are risks, complications and sub-optimal results, especially if you don’t seek treatment from an expert injector. This is why it’s crucial to get a nose filler procedure from a doctor that is skilled, experienced and has an artistic eye.

Nose Fillers Before and After

Nose filler treatment is performed by injecting dermal filler in parts of the nose that are “deficient”.

For example, if you have a low nose bridge, we will inject fillers at your nose bridge to add volume and definition to your nose. If you would like to have a sharper nose tip, fillers can be injected in the tip of your nose to make your nose look relatively thinner and more sculpted.

What is the nose filler treatment process?

This is how nose filler treatment is performed.

Step 1: Consultation with Dr Justin Boey, Medical Director, to discuss your goals, dispel myths and address possible complications or side-effects.

Step 2: A topical anesthetic (numbing cream) is applied to your nose for 15-30 minutes to reduce discomfort and pain during the treatment.

Step 3: A thin needle is used to inject hyaluronic acid filler in the areas to be treated. Next, the fillers will be moulded to achieve the desired results.

What to expect after Fillers?

Immediately after the treatment, it is possible to have temporary side effects such as redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness around the injection site.

This is normal and will disappear in a few hours. Antihistamine can be taken to help alleviate the swelling, while Arnica can help with the bruising.

To help minimize the risk of swelling and bruising, it is best not to drink alcohol before and after the procedure, do not touch the area, and avoid blood thinning medications.

How long do nose fillers last?

how long do nose fillers last

Nose filler treatment using hyaluronic acid fillers can last between 9 to 18 months. We only use reputable brands of dermal fillers that are US FDA, CE and HSA approved. We offer dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Stylage.

Since hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body, your body has an enzyme that will gradually break down the fillers, causing it to disappear over time.

To maintain results, patients are advised to undergo another treatment before all the fillers have been absorbed.

The duration that your fillers last will vary amongst individuals. The factors that affect how long your fillers last are your lifestyle (exercise, smoking) and the body’s natural rate of metabolism.

Although there are many brands of hyaluronic acid-based fillers, we suggest that you use reputable brands of dermal fillers to ensure that your nose filler results last longer.

Can nose fillers be permanent?

Hyaluronic acid nose fillers are temporary since it is slowly broken down by your body. However, there are ‘semi-permanent’ fillers that won’t wear off as quickly. Of course, temporary fillers cost less compared to semi-permanent fillers. Temporary fillers may require you to spend money every year to have your nose redone. While semi-permanent fillers last longer and won’t require touch-ups as regularly.

Nose Fillers Side Effects

nose fillers side effects

The common side effects of any injected-related procedure are tenderness, redness, bruising, and swelling. Moments after the nose filler treatment, your nose may swell. These side effects may be scary but will fade in just a few days and eventually reveal the nose you desire.

While the side effects are typically mild, there are also some risks of serious complications when a filler is injected into a blood vessel or contracts a bacterial infection. This is why it’s important to be wise when choosing a medical aesthetics clinic.

Are nose fillers safe?

This procedure should be done by a skilled and experienced doctor. Considering that the nose is in a delicate area, extra caution should be considered.

The safest area to inject fillers is along the mid-line of your nose bridge, which is away from the arteries.  An accidentally clogged blood vessel may lead to permanent scarring. A clogged retinal artery may lead to blindness. This is why it’s important to see a reputable doctor for nose filler injections.

How long does swelling from fillers last?

While swelling is typically experienced after the treatment, most patients are still able to go about their normal activities. However, this side effect is temporary and subsides after a day or two. It is best to have an experienced doctor to do this treatment for a smoother procedure, less discomfort and lower risks of swelling.

Is it normal to be sore after fillers?

It is typical to experience soreness immediately after the treatment. This is usually minor and temporary. It can be treated with simple pain-killer medication. Most patients are able to go about their normal activities even with a bit of soreness around their nose region.

Nose Fillers vs Nose Thread Lift

nose thread lift versus nose filler

Nose fillers are better for volumising while nose thread lifts are better for sculpting.

Nose volumisation is important for patients with flat nose bridge. This is best achieved through nose fillers.

Nose sculpting is important for patients who have decent nose bridge projection are desiring for more definition and refinement. This is best achieved through nose thread lifts.

Fillers are better suited for giving height and volume to your nose bridge because fillers increase volume in the treated area. The disadvantage of nose filler procedure is the lateral spreading of the nose fillers resulting in an excessively broad nose. In order to avoid having an excessively broad nose, we do not inject excessive volumes of filler (not more than 1cc of filler).

This is where nose thread lift comes in handy to complement nose filler treatments.

Nose Threadlift is the ideal non-surgical nose aesthetic procedure for improving the appearance of the nose bridge and nose tip.

What Is A Nose Threadlift?

A nose threadlift is a non-surgical nasal augmentation procedure, in short threads to the nasal bridge or the columnella to contour the nose shape, height and definition.

The full result comes from the “stacking” effect of many threads. It is just like a surgical nosejob, except that the “implants” are dissolvable within 1-2 years.

It is fast (takes just 15mins) and with minimal recovery time.

What Can A Nose Threadlift Achieve?

  • Higher nose bridge
  • Sharper nose tip
  • More defined nose

A nose thread lift is better suited to improve nose contour rather than to add volume. A thread lift is suitable for patients with good nose projection and volume but requires more sculpting and contouring.

For patients who have flat nose bridge and are looking to improve both volume and contour, a combination of nose fillers and nose thread lifts are required to achieve optimal results.

FAQ

Either nose thread lift or fillers can effectively augment the nose, but expert doctors will combine both treatments for more dramatic improvements and more defined nose. Combining these two treatments will give your nose a refined structure and will most likely last longer.
Hyaluronic acid is the most common type of filler used in Singapore. Hyaluronic acid can be found naturally in our body, especially in our skin. Its primary function is to keep the tissues hydrated and moist. Hyaluronic acid are natural compounds used to perform the non-surgical nose job. It is fully biodegradable and is fully absorbed by your body over time.

It’s okay to wear glasses after treatment but be sure not to push it into the nasal bridge for 2 weeks as it may affect the results.

However, we recommend not to put excessive pressure on the nose for at least four weeks. Excessive direct pressure on the nose region may affect the outcome and require you to have a touch-up treatment.

When a filler isn’t done by a skilled and experienced surgeon, there’s a possibility of filler movement with poor injection techniques.

Improper filler injection can increase the risk of fillers moving because of gravity, displacement and muscle activity.

This is why it’s important to have a filler treatment done by an experienced doctor from a reputable medical aesthetics clinic.

A well-performed procedure will allow the proper placement and process of the injected hyaluronic acid.

These fillers have molecules that weave itself with natural collagen, keeping them firmly in place – this reduces the risk of movement.

Restylane, Juvederm and Stylage are hyaluronic acid fillers which can last up to 9 to 18 months depending on your body metabolism and lifestyle.

Radiesse, which is a calcium hydroxyapatite filler, can last up to 24 months. This is a semi-permanent filler that cannot be dissolved using hyaluronidase.

Fillers treatments are tolerable by most patients. We use strong numbing creams that effectively reduce the pain and discomfort during the treatment. You may feel mild discomfort during the procedure.

The hyaluronic fillers that we use are also pre-mixed with lidocaine. Lidocaine is a painkiller (local anesthetic). Combined with light-handed injection techniques, the nose filler procedure can be relatively painless.
