Brief History

In the 19th century, Clarke Quay was a busy place filled with trade activity. Bumboats would travel up and down Singapore River carrying goods and products that are eventually stored in the warehouses along Boat Quay and Clarke Quay. By the 20th century, the government had to relocate the trading activities to Pasir Panjang and transformed the area into leisure, entertainment, and dining zone.

Head northwest on River Valley Rd toward Canning Ln then turn left onto Clemenceau Ave. Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto Merchant Rd. Use the 2nd from the right lane to turn right onto New Bridge Rd then Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto Upper Pickering St. Continue onto Pickering St and Church St., Turn left onto Market St then turn right. Sozo Clinic will be on the left.
